Chim, chimney, chim, chimney, chim, chim, cheroo :-)

Thursday already and it just seems like I’ve just started work, not been there for two and a half days! The weekend is almost upon us and I cannot say that I’ve actually done much other than a little ‘chimney sweeping’ Smile Well not so much a lumb as the vent for the sewage tank, which got a little blocked of late, not seriously but enough to ‘slow the jobbies down’ Smile

I kinda suspected something was amiss when I felt rather a lot of ‘positive pressure’ from one of the drain plugs that I removed. No water came out of the plug but plenty did when I opened up the pipe itself.

Some work on this section removed rather a lot of gunk but I suspected the main blockage to be around the next 90 degree bend where the pipe heads up through three more decks to exhaust stacks.

Sure enough, it was blocked solid with flakes of rust but a combination of the rods and Charlie the hoover sorted it. Oh the joys of working with the sewage tank Smile

A long way from home

Aside from the chimney sweeping it’s been pretty regular on the work front, a busy Tuesday and Wednesday led us into a quieter Thursday. The miserable August gave way to a slightly better September but still nothing ‘to write home about’. I think it’s just down to your luck where the showers land, some of them have been pretty brutal but some missed us entirely.

The ‘wee pier’ was still blessed with a few boats but the summer fishing creels were being brought in by at least one fisherman.

Someone a long way from British Columbia, apparently he’s done some 79,000 kilometres on it!!!!!

Someone else a long way from home, well Tarbert Loch Fyne Smile that must have been taken when the sun was out.

Another fine meal by Ross Camilli, baked veg and smoked salmon, I really am gonna miss his cooking when he goes back to uni Sad smile

Methinks the ‘wee dug’ will too, she’s gonna have to spend more time in the car Sad smile

A busy boat

The MV Volt Processor was back alongside again after another day at the Moll fish farm.

There is some serious hardware on the very capable looking craft, fish pumps, cranes, grading equipment and I guess it’ll be fitted out for de lousing too.

Well, that’s it, I’m off to bed, it’s 21:00 and I’m shattered with another of young Camilli’s fine meals inside me Smile
