Life at the end of the road

He’s gone :-( She’s out :-)

8:00am now, still not daylight but heading in the right direction and looking like a promising day, may even get some concrete poured today with a bit of luck. Long day and early night yesterday taking our son to Inverness to catch the train. Sure he could have caught the bus but we’ll no be seeing him for a while and it was chance to pick some ‘odds and ends’ up from Screwfix. Shame cos it was a fine day here by the look of it and with me heading back to work next week there’s still a mountain on the ‘to do’ list.

Mainly cos I’ve not really done great deal this last fortnight. One thing about a sedentary life style it sure makes time pass slowly, I feel like I’ve been off work for a month. Methinks there is much to be said for taking a leaf out of Dunbar’s book, that’ll be corporal Dunbar from Joseph Heller’s novel Catch 22   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Catch-22_characters Dunbar was always doing boring and mindless things that he hated in order to make his life seem longer. There’s a lot to be said for it, this really, really has been a long spell off work Smile

She’s out

So, that’s it, we bade our son farewell, did some shopping and managed to catch the 17:30 ferry home, by the time we’d reheated the Chinese takeaway purchased in Kyle it would be almost 20:00. Shortly after that I was in my bed with a good book on account of this morning’s ‘early start’. Time and tide wait for no man and high water was at 7:00am and I wanted to be early to catch it.
