Life at the end of the road

August 24, 2012

I’ll make a start :-)

Filed under: daily doings, Trucks and plant — lifeattheendoftheroad @ 5:29 am

It’s just after 6:00am and I’m almost ready for work, no posting last night due to roast chicken, cosy night in front of  a Squirrel and an early night. The weather certainly seems to have become more summery, or at least more August like of late. The long dry spells where one could leave tools out and windows open all night having long gone. It’s back to warm showers that come out of nowhere immediately after you take your waterproofs off because the sun has come out Sad smile That and of course the dreaded midge which is certainly making up for lost time. I’ve even seen a couple of rainbows this last two days, though only managed to photograph the third one on my way home last night.

It was more of a ‘rainblob’ than over Broadford than a rainbow but lovely all the same.

The day had been quite steady and mainly fine so we had a good number of tourists and two loads of aggregate from Skye Marble for the water treatment plant.

At one point we appeared to have a fault on the hydraulic ram that was replaced yesterday lunchtime,
