Spaghetti :-(

Almost 23:00 and I’m off to bed in minutes so not much on here tonight guys, more a case of a few scribbles just to remind me what I did on the longest day of 2012 🙂

Well it was not a great deal really, again a ‘wee lie in’ this time until after 8:00 am !!!!! So late in fact that I rushed out to feed even before getting properly dressed or drinking coffee.

Rocky and Bracken having given up on waiting at the ‘farm gate’ to be fed had gone for a wee lie down in the early morning sunshine. Of Bramble there was no sign, she’d probably been bullied by Bracken and gone off to search for her wains who were weaned yesterday.

That done and breakfast out of the way it was back to moving the Proven ‘charge controller’ into Cyril’s shed.

Photographs being the order of the day prior to any dismantling, though it was not half as complicated as I at first feared. Three clearly marked wires, 1,2,and 3 for the AC dumps plus a common neutral, a few earths, the battery terminals, the three AC inputs from the wind turbine, an AC supply and a two DC feeds. One for the volt meter in the kitchen and one for the controller itself.

The three phase AC cabling from the wind turbine was a bit of ‘a dogs breakfast’ but it’s only 60v max and temporary so will do for a few days.

This cheap Chinese cable crimper I got off eBay a couple of years ago making life so much simpler 🙂

This ‘wee dug’ named Charlie also making digging the trench for the 70mm square SWA easier too 🙂

Though I was left with rather a lot of ‘spaghetti’ before I rushed down to the ferry to let my ‘back to back’ away!!

  1. You cannot beat a bit of terrier excavating.Only trouble is the back-filling can be tricky as the stuff coming out can get flung far and wide 🙂

    • Morning Andy, terriers like pigs would make superb excavators if the just dug where you told them 🙂

      • Perhaps a CAT would be better :-)?

      • Aye Andy, I’d give my right arm for one of those, would save no end of bother on the back 🙂
