Fortunate for some :-)

Well, that’s it we’re firmly tied up to Scotland for an hour or so, my paint’s drying nicely after the days labours so I’ll batter out a few lines on here 🙂

The first day of July (yesterday) certainly didn’t feel like summer but at least it was dry and today more than made up for it, still not the high twenties they’re experiencing to the south but at least we’re into the serious double figures now, well the teens anyway 🙂 I left the house early this morning to load up my blue bins for the recycling, I’m not really into this ‘token recycling’ but the wife and ‘eco warrior’ insist 🙂 Don’t get me wrong, I’m big on reusing stuff, just check out what I’ve done with wine bottles 🙂 I just think the key to saving the planet is buying less cr4p in the first place and not sending all ours on an endless trip to China and back 🙂

Anyway as I rattled down a dry and virtually puddle free road for the first time in weeks with my bins rattling away behind me scaring all the rabbits I stopped to have a look through the binoculars at a boat.

 

A serious boat, in fact it was more of a ship than a boat and it had been anchored there in the Camas Bahn for two nights.

Continuing on my way I took the ‘low road’ unlike yesterday when I stopped for a while to watch JST’s chaps or should I say one of there chaps loading a trailer.

 

 

Well, I didn’t want to meet him on that narrow twisting road with the pair of us towing trailers 🙂

The ‘Fortunate Sun’

The day just flew by, a nice quiet morning enabling me to get on with some undercoating and a steady stream of tourists in the sunshine to make the day interesting.

I just loved this badge I saw on the back of a campervan 🙂

Lunch time saw me popping along the road to see my mate Willy and admiring the progress at the new house on the Avenue,

though the traffic was unusually heavy 🙂

 

Whilst doing my spell at the wheel the ‘mystery ship’ came south from Portree

  

and it turned out to be MY Fortunate sun, a 54m motor yacht registered in the Cayman islands.

Oceanfast was the naval architect involved in the technical superyacht composition for FORTUNATE SUN. Her interior design was conceived by Tim Heywood. Oceanfast and Tim Heywood is also associated with the yacht general design work for this yacht. In 2003 she was actually launched with triumph in Fremantle and following sea trials and detailing was thereafter passed on to the yacht owner. Oceanfast (Austal) completed their new build motor yacht in Australia. The hull was constructed with steel. The motor yacht superstructure is fabricated largely from aluminiumandgrp. With a beam of 10.21 metres / 33.5 ft FORTUNATE SUN has spacious room. A fairly shallow draught of 2.74m (9ft) limits the number of worldwide marinas she can berth in, depending on their individual depth at low tide. the tender probably cost more than my house 🙂
