Life at the end of the road

Who was it ??? part 2 :-)

Filed under: daily doings — lifeattheendoftheroad @ 5:26 am

I started this on Thursday night but went to my bed around 21:30 so never finished it. I fully intended to do it last night but went to my bed at 21:00 thinking I’d get up early and do it this morning, not a chance, I slept right through until the alarm at 5:45 😦 Even then I though I’d scribble a few lines before heading down the road but it’s taken me twenty minutes to get linked up to the satellite that provides me with my internet connection 😦

So before I head off to work I’ll just leave you with a short video of the Tigercat H860C that has just started work up the youth hostel road.

I was only there two minutes and this monster had cut down and cut up five trees !!!!

It is a seriously impressive bit of kit 🙂

Anyway, back to ‘Who was it’, Thursday’s WHFP or the ‘Broadford Beano’ as it’s locally known runs a little article every week titled ‘35 years ago today’ or whatever seems like a good number.

Check out the very last paragraph from June 18th 1976 ‘Raasay’s first motoring offence’ but who was it that collided so slowly and civilisedly 🙂

Anyway, must dash now and I’ll finish this off tonight.

  2. If I remember correctly, the accident was at the Creagan Beagha, and the person fined still stays on your island….

  3. Problems with computer…The person fined stays on Raasay and if I remember correctly Creagan Beagha was where it happened.
Dont believe all you read. Sometimes the communist times only tells what it wants you to know.

    • ” Sometimes the communist times only tells what it wants you to know. ” 🙂 🙂 🙂 You don’t actually think that ANY paper tells you otherwise do you She, I had you down for a far wiser person than that 🙂

  4. Well I was only ten years old so it couldn’t have been me :). If I remember corectly, I would have been enjoying the sunshine from a glorious summer.

    • Well it wasn’t me either Derek, I was busy picking up my only ever conviction, for ‘driving without due care and attention’ in Accrington in 1976. A small matter of writing off a Triumph Herald with a Triumph Tiger 100SS motor bike 😦 Surprisingly the bike I was riding suffered less damage than the car and me none at all 🙂
