Life at the end of the road

Sorry

Just a quickie before I vanish from ‘the end of the road’ for a while. It’s Tuesday night now, the bananas are finished and it’s almost 23:00. As I spent most of my 3 week holiday last month buried under my Land Rover and working on the croft this next 7 days is going to be our proper holiday with a trip to  http://www.thewickermanfestival.co.uk/ via Girvan and Arran.

Monday

Was on the whole pretty miserable on Raasay with not a great deal achieved other than the routine day to day stuff.

The fishery cruiser Minna went by in the morning but frequent heavy showers and gusty west wind meant not much got done on deck.

The late afternoon did however improve and the evening turned out quite nice, my boy and his two pals went to the Raasay House activity night and the good ship Loch Striven waited at Sconser for traffic from a delayed sailing from Tarbert. Which was just as well as I would have missed my boy and his two pals assisting the local fire crew on their practice night!

Willing helpers!

It was well worth the wait at Sconser just to see their happy smiling faces

A good job, well done!

Not to mention the happy smiling faces of the children 🙂

Tuesday

Today was a far better day but I spent most of it finishing off the wee painting jobs I’d started and getting things ready for my relief. The camera never came out and when I got home at 20:00 I set about getting our caravan ready for it’s epic journey south. So if you happen to get stuck behind an old caravan and Land Rover on the A 82 tomorrow, I’m really sorry but be patient and I will pull over 🙂
